This site is an experiment for me. I want to achieve three things for myself.
- build a weblog without WordPress.
- write about the music I listen to.
- write the texts in English to challenge myself.
Music is a constant companion in my life. I listen to certain artists depending on my mood. Music is an outlet for me to process different impressions from my life. That's why the bands vary to some extent. Of course, you should know that heavy metal with all its facets is more common than classical music, for example. However, I am open to everything. Music doesn't have to correspond to a certain genre, but it has to make something inside me resonate.
I was born in the early seventies of the last millennium. The 1980s were my teenage years. I came into contact with rock music at a very early age. I had uncles who were only a few years older than me. The records back then mainly played AC/DC, Status Quo and the like. That probably influenced me. I bought a record by the band Iron Maiden when I was 12 years old. I'm sure many people are familiar with them. But back then we also had a strong scene of bands in Germany. For example Kreator, Sodom, Liar, Risk, Destruction and Warlock. That's where I fit in musically. That hasn't changed even in my mid-50s. I've become more variable. Back then, when I was young, I wouldn't have listened to electro or pop music. Today, I listen first before I make a decision. There's good music from a wide variety of genres (I hope my younger self isn't reading this).
